Russell Wayne  Ferrie
Russell Wayne Ferrie, 83, of Davenport, FL and formerly of Erie, passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale, FL following a brief illness. He was born in Warren, PA on May 26, 1933 a son of the late Stuart J. and Lorraine Franklin Ferrie.

Russell graduated from East High School and went on to graduate from the G.E. Apprentice Program. He graduated from Gannon College with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and worked as a manager in Export Locomotives with G.E. for 43 years before retirement. He was an avid Fenton Ware glass collector and was a member of the N.R.A.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother in law, Anthony Taglienti.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann McLaughlin Ferrie; one daughter, Marlene Galvin and her husband Kevin of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Kevin Ferrie and his wife Robin of Erie, Michael Ferrie and his wife Cheryl of Erie, and Keith Ferrie and his wife Angela of Powell, TN; nine grandchildren, Heidi, Jason, Melissa (Dan), Lindsay (Phil), Laura, Megan (Brett), Matthew, Jill, and Scott (Tailor); nine great grandchildren; one sister, Barb Taglienti of Sayre, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Monday at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
