Obituary for Rosemary Jaskiewicz (Dembinski)

Rosemary "Rody" Dembinski Jaskiewicz, 92, of Erie, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was born in Erie on February 21, 1924 a daughter of the late Telesfore and Rozaliea Scheloske Dembinski.

Rosemary was a 1943 graduate of East High School and went on to work with Products Finishing. Most recently she worked with Microfinishing for 10 years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church where she belonged to the Rosary and Altar Societies and volunteered at the VA Medical Center for 12 years. She also belonged to the Siebenbuerger and St. Mark Seminary Auxiliaries. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading, knitting, and crocheting.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Jaskiewicz; one sister, Eleanor Dembinski; and three brothers, Robert, Francis, and John Dembinski.

Survivors include three sons, Philip J. Jaskiewicz and his wife Roberta of Alexandria, LA, Arthur L. Jaskiewicz and his wife Christine of Erie, and Gerard S. Jaskiewicz and his wife Susan of Erie; two sisters, Sr. Pierre Dembinski, Sister of Mercy, of Erie and Ruth M. Kinzig of Buffalo, NY; seven grandchildren, Angela (Justin), Janet (Robert), Emily (Dominic), Arthur III (Stacie), Patricia (Andy), Diane (Brian), and Ian; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.. Entombment will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
