Mildred L. Funk (Otteni)
Mildred Louise Otteni Smith Funk, 90, of Erie, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at St. Mary's Asbury Ridge. She was born in McKean,PA on March 12, 1926 a daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Baroth Otteni. Mildred was very proud to have lived the longest out of her family. After she finally "retired" she had the time of her life bowling, traveling, playing cards, baking, enjoying her grandchildren and all life had to offer. She was a life member of the Siebenbuerger Auxiliary. Always first to arrive to the party and the last to leave. She has left for the final and ultimate party and we will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Funk who passed away on March 21, 1998; two sisters, Marian Guckes and Caroline Pennock; and six brothers, Arthur, Ted, Philip, Leo, Albert and Benjamin Otteni; and her great granddaughter, Kori Durkin.
She is survived by her children, Charles Smith of Grant, FL, David Funk (Maxine), Sandra Smith and Kathleen Bruno (Robert), all of Erie. Also survived by grandchildren David Funk, Robert Funk and Michael Bruno of Erie and Amanda Vasil (James) of Brunswick, OH; step-grandsons, Michael and Patrick Durkin; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
