Dorothy Kazmierski Presogna Erickson, 89, of Erie and formerly of Niagara Village, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at St. Mary's Home East following a brief illness. She was born in Erie on January 24, 1926 a daughter of the late Joseph and Bronislawa Ruteka Kazmierski.
Dorothy originally worked as a nanny with the Bonney family for many years and went on to own Dorothy's Tavern for over 10 years. She enjoyed spending 15 years living in Florida and playing Bingo.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Charles Erickson, Sr.; one sister, Florence Ricke; and four brothers, Stanley, Michael, Frank and Edward Kazmierski.
Survivors include one son, Gary Presogna and his wife Mary of Erie; two grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsay Presogna; one great grandchild, Mia; and many nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private for the family.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of St. Mary's Home East for their love and compassion given to Dorothy during her time there.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, 16511 or to a charity of one's choice.
