Vennette Washington Post, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday November 13, 2015. She was the second eldest daughter of the late Florence Mullaney Washington and P. Alvin Washington and joins her eldest sister June Pelfrey.
Vennette met her husband Earl A. Post in 1942 at a U.S.O Canteen and married 2 weeks later. They were together for 64 happy years until his death in 2008. After settling in Erie, Vennette excelled in her administrative career before retiring in 1997. She and her husband were faithful parishioners of the Cathedral of St. Paul, spending over 10 years volunteering in the food pantry to make sure the downtown Erie Community was fed.
Vennette is survived by her brothers, Alvin E. Washington of Wantagh, NY, Robert W. Washington of Lady Lake, FL, and her sisters, Thelma Kuehner of St. Petersburg, FL, and Joy Kramer of Carmel, CA. Left to cherish her memory is her niece, Paula Demeter and her husband Tim, and over 30 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces.
We will love you and miss you forever.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at the Cathedral of St. Paul on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
