Obituary for George E. Trost

George E.  Trost
George E. Trost, 74, of Erie, passed away following a sudden, unexpected heart attack on Saturday June 20, 2015. He was born in Erie on June 18, 1941 a son of the late George A. and Helen Wagner Trost.
He graduated from Academy High School and went on to graduate from Gannon College. George proudly served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was self-employed as a manufacturer's sales rep for automation systems for a number of years. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of many social clubs in Erie and had a lifelong interest in computers. He enjoyed duckpin bowling, camping, and racquetball.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Shupenko Trost; and three sisters, Nancy Zabrosky, Peggy Trost and Kathleen Lyons.
Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Lynn Trost of Erie; one son, George Ehren Trost III and his wife Renee of Erie; two brothers, David Trost and his wife Judy of Gordonville, PA and John Trost and his wife Karen of Erie; four grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Ryan and Isaac Trost; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family c/o the funeral home.
