Nancy "Pat" Patricia Eck, 84, left this world to join her family in Heaven on Thursday January 8, 2015. Most recently Pat lived at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center following her residence at Kearsarge Place.
Pat was born on June 5, 1930 a daughter of the late Maebelle (Miller) and Oscar Eck, in Erie. She lived all of her life in the Erie, Waterford and Wattsburg areas.
Pat worked her entire life at many places in this area, including many years at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services office of the Federal Government in Waterford, PA and in Administration at the Union City Memorial Hospital. Most recently she was involved for several years in the GECAC Retired Senior Volunteer Program's Foster Grandparent Program at Grover Cleveland Elementary school in Erie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Harrison Eck, Jr., in infancy; and four sisters, Gladys Ethridge, Dorothy Boyd-Ralph, Kathryn "Betty" Eck and Marjorie Jeanne Babcock.
Pat is survived by brothers, Richard (Patti) Eck of Hanoverton, OH and Rodger P. Eck of McKean. She is further survived by nieces Barbara Eck-Duchini (Frank) of McKean, Jill Eck-Myers (Justin) of Grand Prairie, TX, Nancy Ethridge-Peters (George) of Cambridge Springs; and by nephews, Gregory Michael Eck, Alexander and Peter Duchini, all of McKean, William Boyd of Erie, David Ethridge (Jeanne) of Centerville and Ted Ethridge of Mill Village and by several great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and are invited a to prayer service there on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. George Catholic Church, 5145 Peach St., at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Dunn Valley Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
