Obituary for Mary E. Niles (Bentley)
Mary Evelyn Bentley Niles age 79 of Erie, passed away on Saturday December 27, 2014. She was born June 15, 1935 in Open Meadows, NY a daughter of the late Irvin and Gertrude Armslow Bentley.
She was the widow of Charles E. Niles Sr., whom she married on September 1, 1958 and died on August 19, 1994. Mrs. Niles graduated from Chautauqua Central School and was a homemaker. She was a member of E.C. Sportsmen’s League, E.C. Trap Club and the Ashville Grange.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ray Taylor and two sisters, JoAnn Hudson and May Vanderkooi.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
No visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in Open Meadows Cemetery – Town of North Harmony in Chautauqua County, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity on one’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, PA 16504.
