Roger D.   Johnson
Roger D. Johnson age 77 of Lake Pleasant, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday June 1, 2014. He was born in Erie on March 2, 1937 a son of the late William and Irene Abbey Johnson.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Waldron during the Suez Canal crisis. He retired from the A. F. Schultz Co. as a salesman for over 20 years. Roger loved to fish and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Johnson, two sisters, Delores and Joan and two brothers, Donald and Jack.
Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Weir Johnson; their children, Charles (Maggie) Johnson, Diane Johnson all of Union City and Roger (Laurie) Johnson of Wattsburg; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Kayla (Chad), Jessica and Ashley, one great-granddaughter, Cheyenne; one brother, William and two sisters, June and Norma. Roger was previously married and is survived by his children, Peggy and John and their families.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, 16504 on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Thursday morning from 10:00am until the time of the service there at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
