Jackson J.  Yost
Jackson J. Yost, 75, a lifelong resident of the Wattsburg area, went home to be with the Lord on Resurrection Sunday April 8, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Erie on April 21, 1931 a son of the late Harold and Edna Evans Yost.

Jack attended Wattsburg High School and then worked for Penn Dot for several years prior to working with the road departments of Venango Township and then Greenfield Township. He also worked with his son Doug on the family dairy farm in Venango Township retiring in 1992. He enjoyed and loved his grandchildren, reading, farming, the outdoors, and especially the woods where he enjoyed logging and cutting timber.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Margaret "Peg" Cooney Yost whom he married on June 17, 1952; a daughter, Bonnie Turner and her husband William of Wattsburg; three sons, Gary Yost and his wife Cindy of Parker, Colo., Douglas Yost and his wife Cathy of Wattsburg, and Richard Yost and his wife Denise of Union City; a daughter in law Patricia Vannucci Yost of Erie; a sister Doris Allen and her husband Leonard of Waterford; 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his special pet friend Rosie also survive. He was preceded in death by a son Jackson "Rusty" Yost on June 15, 2005 and a grandson, Jacob Yost.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave. on Tuesday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Chris Peria, pastor of the Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will be private and at the family's convenience in the Lowville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in his memory.
